Connect Nevada Program Manager
Lindsey Niedzielski is Connect Nevada’s state Program Manager where she leads Connect Nevada’s continuing statewide effort to increase broadband adoption and use throughout the state. Connect Nevada has been leading the way since 2009 to bring the economic and quality of life benefits of broadband to all Nevada residents. As Connect Nevada’s program manager, Niedzielski’s duties include developing and leading a coordinated initiative for broadband capacity building, continued broadband inventory mapping, local and regional technology planning, technical assistance, and ultimately, increased broadband adoption and digital literacy. Prior to joining Connect Nevada, Niedzielski worked for the University of Nevada, Reno as an alumni relations program manager. She holds a bachelor degree in journalism, public relations and advertising and a master degree in secondary education.
Community Technology Advisor
Debbie Erdody serves as Community Technology Advisor for Connect Nevada. Debbie coordinates and manages the activities of regional planning teams across the state. Debbie provides “train-the-trainer” activities to the regional planning teams on the broadband landscape to spur digital literacy activities in each region. In addition, with assistance from Connected Nation’s communications staff and the volunteers of the regional planning teams, she works to increase regional and local awareness of the planning teams, the planning process, the benefits of increased broadband adoption, and Connect Nevada through the media and local organizations.
Debbie has over ten years of training experience where she has developed and implemented training processes and procedures, evaluations of training programs, managed technical training programs for employees and customers, designed, developed and delivered professional skills training in roles such as Training Administrator at Sierra Nevada Corporation and Training Specialist at Wood Group ESP, Inc. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Administrative Leadership Management and a Master’s degree in Adult Education with an Emphasis in Training and Development from the University of Oklahoma.
Community Technology Advisor
Ariel Martinez joins us as Community Technology Advisor for Connect Nevada. In this role, Ariel will coordinate and manage, on behalf of the Nevada Broadband Task Force, the Connect Nevada State Program Manager, and the Connect Nevada Strategic Program Office, the activities of the Nevada regional planning teams. He will facilitate the regional planning teams in conducting regular meetings to establish benchmarks, goals, and a strategic plan. In addition, with assistance from Connected Nation’s communications staff and the volunteers of the regional planning teams, Ariel will increase regional and local awareness of the planning teams, the planning process, the benefits of increased broadband adoption, and the Connect Nevada program through the media and local organizations.
Before joining Connect Nevada, Ariel worked for the Grand Sierra Casino Resort in Reno, NV as an active member of the Analysis Team tasked to evaluate, study, and research all aspects of the property, casino, and hotel operations. Prior to his position at the Grand Sierra Casino Resort, Ariel was a Program Manager in the Nevada Housing Division. In this role, Ariel managed the Weatherization Assistance Program for the State of Nevada and ensured proper allocation and disbursement of over $40 million of Weatherization funds for energy efficiency measures. He holds a Bachelor’s in Economics from the Ateneo de Manila University in Manila, Philippines, an M.A. in Business Economic Research from the University of Asia & the Pacific in Manila, Philippines and an M.S. in Applied Resource Economics & Statistics from the University of Nevada.
Communications Specialist
Jeremy Thacker serves as a Communications Specialist where he is responsible for assisting with projecting a positive image of Connected Nation to stakeholders and the general public through various media activities including web and other multimedia assets. Jeremy coordinates with media at a national level to gain maximum exposure for Connected Nation’s activities and support partner communications and assist in strategic downstate media outreach.
Jeremy brings with him more than 15 years of experience in television show producing, breaking & entertainment news and live event planning. He has most recently served as Freelance Producer for CMT/MTV Networks, GAC and the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. Prior to his tenure in Nashville, Jeremy was a Supervising Producer for E! Networks in Los Angeles.
He holds a B.A. in Communications from the University of Arizona.
Project Manager
Jay Houston serves as Project Manager for Connected Nation. In this role, she assists in the development and diffusion of a project management culture throughout the Connected Nation enterprise. Jay has a lead role in Connected Nation project management activities including implementation efforts for our Connect State engagements, providing project management support for identified Connected Nation deliverables, and assisting in the facilitation of the governance process for Connected Nation’s Project Management methodology.
Jay joined Connected Nation in August 2007. She holds a B.S. in Public Health from Western Kentucky University.
Field Solutions Specialist
Erin Flournoy serves as Field Solutions Specialist withing the Engineering and Technical Services division. She is responsible for the development and nurturing of local agency and state broadband provider relationships. She will assist in the identifiction of key opportunities that benefit state based non-profit or for-profit edneavors and provides general and overall Engineering and Technical Services support. She augments the Engineering and Technical Services staff in the development of pilot projects, community engagements, and last-mile solution through on-the-ground due diligence and community research.
Erin joined the Connected Nation team in December, 2009 as Stakeholder Relations Associate. In this role she functioned as the primary relationship manager for our Texas program, building and maintaining a strong relationship with our state partners at the Texas Department of Agriculture while increasing exposure to, and support of, the program across a broad spectrum of stakeholders and groups. Her efforts helped establish our relationship with the Texas Association of Regional Councils (TARC), a partnership that will serve as the nexus for our community engagement efforts across the state as the program moves forward.
Erin has eight years of sales experience, most recently serving in the conference planning team for Omni Hotels in Dallas. In addition, she served as a Licensed Real Estate Agent for America’s First Home, Sales Coordinator for HFA Holdings, a high-rise condominium builder/developer, and was a Licensed Health, Life and Annuity Sales Agent for Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Florida.
Erin holds a B.A. in English, with emphasis in Creative Writing (limited admissions program), and a minor in Communications from Florida State University. At Florida State University she served Tri Delta most recently as Continuing Education Chairman.
Technology Assessment Consultant
Charlie Roodenburg serves as Connect Nevada’s technology assessment consultant and is responsible for provider outreach in the state of Nevada. He assists broadband providers in the collection of mapping data and serves as a liaison between the Connected Nation mapping department and providers to gain approval of the maps to be consolidated on the Connect Nevada state map. He is responsible for collecting updated data from the providers to reflect changes in broadband coverage areas semi-annually. He also conducts in-field data validation throughout Nevada to verify and refine the broadband mapping data. In addition, Roodenburg analyzes and responds to inquiries from residents regarding broadband availability.
Roodenburg has more than 14 years of hands-on management experience in the Internet service provider industry including 7 years of public company management responsibility. He came to the Internet industry with more than 22 years of business management experience in fields as diverse as distribution and logistics and import automotive parts marketing at the corporate level. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Southern California and an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University.
