This month marks one year since Charlevoix County, MI became the first Connected certified community in the country. We’ve commemorated the event in style by celebrating the country’s ninth Connected community – Van Wert County, OH. Internet Offers Nevada Students Alternative Schooling Options

They give children access to a high quality public school in a home-based learning environment. Registration Now Open for 2013 Nevada Broadband Summit

Registration is now open for Nevada’s third annual Broadband Summit taking place November 18 in Reno!The event, called Learning in the Digital Space, will bring national, state, county, and local leaders together to discuss broadband expansion and the critical role technology is now playing in education.The one-day meeting will take place at the University of Nevada, Reno. Commitments Announced for FCC’s Connect America Fund: Phase 1

On August 20, larger (“price cap”) local telephone companies began making commitments to the FCC to build out fixed broadband service to thousands of homes and businesses that do not have access to broadband service today. These commitments are part of the Phase I of the FCC’s Connect America Fund (CAF), which offers one-time, per-location payments to these providers to upgrade their networks. All told, more than 600,000 homes and businesses could see broadband network upgrades as a result of this program.
