Task Force Sees Ten Counties Getting Connected

By Jeremy Thacker

Nevada’s Broadband Task Force is forging ahead with its important work of broadband planning and expansion. The group met this week with Connect Nevada on hand to update Task Force members on the several strong community engagement activities happening in ten counties across the state.

Several other updates were presented during the meeting. State Health IT Coordinator Lynn O’Mara reported her team is currently in the process of revising their state plan and forming a governing board to oversee the state HIT initiative.

Vice Chair Randy Brown announced a workshop through the Nevada Public Utilities Commission on April 4. The workshop will examine changes to USF funds and the potential impact on Nevada.
