Reno Families Receive Free Computers and Training

Four Reno families now have new HP computers, Microsoft software, and the skills to use them. The gifts came thanks to the free Every Community Online (ECO) program offered by Connect Nevada and the Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows. The family training took place at the Boys and Girls Club in Reno where members took part in two evening classes over two weeks this month. Connect Nevada Aims to Put ‘Every Community Online’

Connect Nevada, in partnership with JOIN, Inc. and the Nevada State Library and Archives (NSLA), has launched the Every Community Online (ECO) program! The program offers free computer and Internet training and leaves participants eligible for discounted computers and home broadband services. More than 126,000 Nevada adults (19%) say a lack of digital skills and knowledge of how to use a computer and broadband is the main reason they don’t have broadband at home.
